My Body activities for toddlers: snack, play, book and free printable

Little kids are busy figuring out what their bodies can do. This week's activities give them the words for it: muscles, heart, brain and bones. They also show how food, water and movement help a body grow.

Everything below goes with Episode 3 of Sprocket & Sprout. Do a little each day, or pick the ones that fit your week.

Snacks

Muscle Smoothie: a purple berry smoothie in a clear glass with blueberries beside it

  • Muscle Smoothie. A thick, fruity blend of banana, yogurt and berries, with a muscle pose before the first sip.

  • Brainy Yogurt Bowl. Creamy yogurt your child tops with colorful fruit and a little crunch.

  • Eye See You Snack. Silly banana and blueberry "eyeballs" that look right back at you.

Projects

Hand Span Investigation, a project for toddlers from Sprocket & Sprout

  • Hand Span Investigation. Find out how many hand spans long everyday things are, then compare your child's hand to yours.

  • Dress for the Place. Dress a paper person for somewhere snowy, rainy, hot or sunny.

  • Ten Tower. Stack cups from biggest to smallest and count to ten.

Every child is different. Please use your own judgment about what's safe and right for your family. Always supervise children during activities and while eating, and adjust foods for allergies, dietary needs and your child's age and chewing ability.
