Number 7 Activities for Toddlers

Updated: 5 hours ago

Seven is one more than six: one whole hand and two more fingers. At ages 2 to 4 the goal is counting real things, one at a time, and knowing that the last number you say tells you how many.
Here's everything we use for Number 7, all in one place. Pick one or two, or spread them across a week.
Talk about it
Talk About It: The Number 7. Seven is five fingers on one hand plus two on the other. You'll find a few questions to ask and a one-minute way to show it.
Snack
Eight-Leg Snack Plate. One round food for the body and eight long pieces for the legs. Count them on, count them off and eat them up.
Play
Spider Delivery Dump Truck. Call a number, load that many spiders into a dump truck, drive them to the web and count to check the delivery.
Read
The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle. Our Number 7 day book pick. Count the farm animals that stop by while the spider spins her web. Get the book on Amazon
