Number 4 activities for toddlers: snack, play, book and free printable

Four is easy to spot once you start looking: four legs on a dog, four wheels on a car, four sides on a square. At ages 2 to 4 the goal isn't writing the number. It's counting one, two, three, four and knowing that four is one more than three.

Here's everything we use for the number 4, all in one place. Pick one or two, or spread them across a week.

Talk about it

Talk About It: The Number 4. The big idea: four means one more than three. You'll find a few questions to ask and a one-minute way to show it.

Play

Pop Count, a project for toddlers from Sprocket & Sprout

Pop Count. Write numbers on a strip of bubble wrap. Your child pops that many bubbles, counting and listening as they go.

Snack

Five senses snack tray: yogurt for dipping, a rice cake, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, banana slices, crackers and orange segments on a white tray

Five Senses Snack Tray. Our Number 4 day snack. A tray with one little section for each sense. Count the sections, then count the pieces in each one.
