What happens when cows find a typewriter? Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin, illustrated by Betsy Lewin, is one of the funniest farm books around, and a great way to kick off farm week.

Welcome to farm week! We're starting with a snack that says moo. Your little one turns a slice of toast into a cow face with a few simple toppings: banana for the muzzle, blueberries for the eyes and spots, and strawberry ears. Cow Toast takes five minutes and gets a lot of giggles.

Every farm needs a barn, and today your little one is the builder. The challenge: build a barn that fits as many toy farm animals as possible, then count them. It's building, problem solving and counting to 6 all in one.

We've counted up to 5. Today we add one more and get 6. Six is the first number that needs two hands: all five fingers on one hand, plus one finger on the other. On the farm, six is easy to spot. Half a carton of eggs is six eggs!
