We've counted up to 4. Today we add one more and get 5. Five is the easiest number to carry around, because it's right on your hand: five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot.

If you're starting dinosaur week with a two-year-old, start here. Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs by Byron Barton is a simple, bold introduction to all kinds of dinosaurs, and it's one of the first dinosaur books many kids fall in love with.

Welcome to dinosaur week! We're kicking it off with a snack that looks like a tiny dig site. Your little one layers creamy pudding and crumbly cookie "dirt" in a cup, then hides a dinosaur on top. Dinosaur Dirt Cups are messy, a little silly and a big hit at our table.

Today your little one becomes a paleontologist, a scientist who digs up fossils. We bury five toy dinosaurs in a bin of sand or rice, and they dig, dust and count until every one is found.
